Acne treatment bought in the store cost several dollars. They are also a chemical mixture that in some cases might hurt more than it cures. That depends on the user and the skin tone, plus the kind of acne condition you have. For all those people not wanting to buy expensive treatments in the pharmacy, there are some great homemade treatments to try, of which some of them actually are better than what the pharmacist can offer.

Oatmeal masks
Most of us keep oatmeal at home. It is easy to make a mask out of the oatmeal and to put that on the face. This is for people with oily skin. The mask works as a perfect peeler and takes away the excessive amount of skin on the face, without making it too dry. Rinse with cold water once you have removed the mask, and the pores contract.

Mix of honey
If you mix honey with mashed apple and use this for a mask, the acne might become easier to handle. The mix of honey and apple is to be left on the face for just over twenty minutes. The effect is immediate. Don´t forget to rinse the face with cold water afterwards. A mix of honey and cinnamon has an effect as well.

Lemon juice and cinnamon
For oily skin, a mix of lemon juice and cinnamon affects the acne in a positive way. Leave all night and rinse off in the morning. This cure is to be avoided if the skin is sensitive.

Orange peel paste
Just peel of the orange and grind it really good with a tad of water. Put the paste on the pimples, and they might go away.

Fresh garlic
This might be the easiest treatment. However it smells pretty bad if you don´t like garlic. Just rub the fresh garlic on the pimples, and you will see the effect within hours.

Herbs
Burdock, sarsaparilla and yellow dock are useful in fighting pimples. Smear the herbs over the area where the acne is and leave all night. Wash with cold water in the morning.

Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil might help when an outbreak is obvious and sudden. The tea tree oil has several antiseptic properties that help reduce the inflammation.

GI-diet
A GI-diet might help. Hormone fluctuations are a huge factor causing acne problem. The reason GI-diets works is probably because the insulin level gets more balanced in your body. That, in turn, makes the entire hormone system more balanced.

Nutmeg
Nutmeg together with milk, preferably cold and untreated, used as a mask will give a positive effect on acne. Apply on the affected area and leave for up to two hours.
